Agenda of Daily Responsibilities
Introduction:
Creating
an effective agenda is one of the most important elements for productive work.
In line with this idea, I was determined to keep an agenda of my tasks and
responsibilities throughout this field experience.
The purpose of such document was to provide me with a
daily outline of the projects that I was undertaking. Both artifacts below
contain sample of my tasks, including meetings and a description of the
strategies used to accomplish them. This log was a key to my productivity as I
became aware of how to usefully spend my time at the health department.
Moreover, it has extremely helped me in creating this portfolio, as I
incorporated information that I might have forgotten if this log was not
created.
Reflections:
The lack of a strategic plan, in most cases, will lead
to poor performance (Martinelli, 2012).
If an organization lacks a strategic plan that provides clear direction,
so critical in this period of rapid change, it can spend significant amounts of
time focusing on activities that may not matter (Martinelli, 2012). Having the chance to generate an agenda of
responsibilities is helping me tackle the demands of the field of public health
where effective and clear understanding of roles and responsibilities is key.
Whether with preparing meetings or planning and developing health programs,
outlining and tracking activities can help evaluate what needs to be done. This
is the form of strategic plan that I incorporated in my practicum, using this
method.
