      Understanding the city’s diversity is essential to developing policies and strategies that address health issues in the community. It was from this perspective that I created a list of “Areas Requiring Assistance and Services” to visualize what needed to be done and how I will address each issue. In fact, this list provides a road map for studying problems, developing appropriate interventions, and evaluating their successes. It encompasses several environmental and public health issues as well as the city’s requirements for public safety. 

Reflections:

        Health behaviors have a significant influence on overall health outcomes of a community. The adoption of positive health behaviors can help individuals achieve and maintain good health (BPHC, 2011). Following this statement, health officials at the city of Worcester Public Health Department are determine to bring about the benefits of public health. In regards with their efforts, I have adopted the concept of integrating the evidence obtained from the list generated, which helped in making difficult decisions under stress, uncertainty, and scarcity of resources. Therefore, creating this artifact has helped me, as a planner, the most suitable target audiences, methods for fostering change, and outcomes for evaluation. It impacted my thinking during this experience, offering insights that translate into stronger programs. And so, gaining good planning skills was the true outcome of this assignment.
